About this Site:

Just a MOEment is a blog dedicated to thoughts on faith, American culture and life on this old blue-green rock we call home.

Lewis Carrol once said, “Everything has a moral, if only you can find it.” and through short, parable-style essays, quotes of interest, book and movie reviews, and videos, Just a MOEment attempts to take a closer look at what authentic Christianity in our modern culture looks like and what practical morals, both spiritual and secular, can be derived from the world around us.  Along, of course, with just enjoying the ride.

My name is Kelsey — or “Moe” — and I’m a  Western Washington resident, who resides just outside of Seattle.  I’ve grown-up in the Puget Sound area, love the rain, and — like all true born and bred Washingtonians — I wouldn’t be caught dead carrying an umbrella.  Although, I have recently been entertaining the notion a plaid umbrella might possibly be the one exception to the rule.

When I’m not banging away at my keyboard I can be found swing dancing to a nineteen twenties’ tune, debating whether or not dreadlocks are the greatest thing sick sliced bread (how could anyone think otherwise?), watching an old, cheesy movie, brushing my teeth (I believe strongly in good oral hygiene), or reading an overdue library book.

My personal aspirations, in no particular order, are to collect every album The Beatles ever released (including everything from their solo careers), become a well-read individual and learn to cook gluten-free food even picky wheat-eater will venture to try.

And this, is my blog.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Who’s Moe?

I’m Moe.  Way back in middle school I wrote for the not-so-prestigious newsletter, The Noname News, that several of my fellow young English Nerds and I put together.  I wrote a mock question answer column and “Modest Moe” was my penname.  Good times.

  • How can I subscribe to Just a MOEment?

Easy!  Subscribing to email updates to Just a MOEment only takes a matter of seconds.  Just go to Feedburner, enter your email address, and then blog updates will begin being delivered directly to your email box.  It’s that simple.

  • Could you link to me?

I’ve actually chosen not to have a list of recommended links on this site, but if you have a specific article you’ve written that fits in with Just a MOEment’s mission to practically apply Christianity to daily life and modern culture  and you’d like to have it considered for a guest article or an excerpt (quote) on the site shoot me an email at ModestMoe@gmail.com.  Please be sure to include in the email a link to your website or blog (if you have one) and the name you’d wish to appear if your article is chosen.  All guest articles and excerpts are credited to the author and linked to whenever possible.

Feel free to contact me regarding any further questions you have at ModestMoe@gmail.com. I also appreciates feedback, so if there’s a topic you’d like to see addressed in the future, or a suggestion for  something else entirely, I’d love to hear from you. 🙂

Great Writing, you keep working in your gift, and your stand for Christ. I am very impressed with your site and have been trying to coincidently the same thing you are doing, Sharing Jesus. If you don’t mind I will add your tag to my site for Jesus’s sake.

Thanks for the inspiration

I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I lost track of where your comment was.

Anyway, I don’t mind at all. In fact, I’d be flattered if you linked to my site. 🙂

Thanks, Eva. You caught me right before I did some much-needed “dusting.” My blog’s been sitting vacant for awhile.
